Nice. The red surround really makes the eyes stand out beautifully. Might be worth a slighty tighter crop on the left to balance it a little better? Well done on totd.
Thanks Trooney, never thought about the crop, I think I was probably trying to centre her eyes :)
Knew that was one of yours before I clicked. Another cracker Hugh and well deserved TOTD
Superb! Really brightens up my day. I like the crop. The extra space on the left side balances out the edge tension on the ear of the right side of pic while also providing a little more breadth. Congrats! V.
woooow! great shot hugh!
This is stunning! Love the tight crop and the eyes are amazing. Well deserved TOTD
Beautifull shot congrats on TOTD....
stunning ! congrats on TOTD :)
Great shot Hugh. Like the lighting and its nice and sharp! Congrats on the TOTD
lurvely :) fantastic standard as would be expected now - well done.
Ah thanks everybody, truly chuffed at the TOTD, although I'm still trying to figure out the 1st "T" bit :) I seem to have found a small niche in the market - I'm doing a lot of this fairly tightly framed beauty stuff (and getting paid for it which is a bouns). I "discovered" studio lights about 18 months ago and have been practising a lot. I try to keep it simple, at most two lights and a reflector. What I was trying to do above is fairly standard beauty lighting (butterfly lighting) which is a lamp directly above pointing downwards at about 45 degrees, and a reflector under her chin. This gives the so called butterfly shadow under the nose. Great for the complexion. I think this was shot on about an 85mm (crop frame, so I'm not right on top of the model) prob at about f/11. Thanks again. H
