I love photographing flowers. Sometimes I think the colours get in the way of seeing the actual flower and its structure.
Not crazy about flower shots but I do agree that the colour can sometimes be overbearing. I think your B&W treatment of this and the previous shot works rather well. The shadows emphasise the structure and form and the water droplets add a bit of extra texture.
