Actually, Ive seen a woman collecting shells there before.....

I have one or two different compositions. Its not the sea behind this one, but piles of wet shells/stones.

I thought this one was the bets of them though.

Thanks, I didnt make the puddle..... it was there when I arrived! But yes, you need a bit of foreground interest and I like the way this rock pool can balance against Lambay Island. Ive been here before....I would have liked the tide in a bit more.

Maybe it was your woman who sells sea shells on the sea shore?? Did you take any versions that had the sea slightly more in focus in the background? I do really like it though, the blurred background does draw attention to the detail on the shells.

It's a great well-balanced photo and well worth getting up before the crack of dawn. The sun and the island are perfectly balanced by the puddle and stone in the foreground - was that deliberate??

Don't think you needed the clouds - you can still get the impression of a haze...possibly volcanic...

Exactly how nature made them! Nature even ate teh insides and broke them..... humans though, lined them up on a wall for some odd reason.

Thanks for the comments Ali,

Thanks for that, on this ocassion clouds would have nearly been a bonus.

Nice colour tones.  I hope this is how nature made them!
