Thanks everyone....the irish Baloon Championships will be back in Kilkenny in September and it is well worth a visit.

Powerful colours! It has a Lucas Arts feel like many of your shots. What software do you use to create the vibrant colours?

Thanks everyone for the comments and thanks for The Twitter as well...the software I use is CS3 but here not much was done really...it was taken in Lismore Castle at dawn and the sun was coming up behind the balloon which really helped emphasise the colours...gave it a slight crop on the end and a contrast boost and colour boost...not much else really....just the idea worked that I had in my head which was to show the scale of balloon and man....thanks again to all.

Thanks...he added that extra dimension alright...wide angle lens and flash to light up the front part and the morning light did the rest.

Thanks Susie...the balloon was backlighted by the rising sun and I used a flash on the camera to light the foreground...it worked also because and I know he wo'nt mind me saying it but the guy in the balloon who acually owns it is a very small man and it really made the balloon look even bigger with him inside.
