I'm trying to organise a collection of 'real-life' images of Irish people at work. Ideally physical/labour work images, but any form of work is of interest. The locations and subjects *must* be Irish though, the idea being to show real everyday working activities of the Irish people.

We can't actually add pictures to this album; only you can do that. All we can do is add references to other pictures

Thanks for letting me know about adding the photos - I thought you could add them in Pix.ie.

I have enabled a feature where you can add this photo to any of your albums, I wonder does that change anything - or do you need to allow that on any photos you want to add here? There must be some way of doing this?

In pixie you can only add photos to your own albums. No one else can put photos into your albums, unless you made your password known to all. Even doing that the photos would then appear to be yours as they would be found only under your user name, and it would not be known that they had been taken by other people unless they watermarked them and/or tagged or described them very specifically. Furthermore there would then be the issue of who owns the copyright to the picture as, afaik, all photos in a user's album are deemed for copyright purposes to be the users. What you need is a Group where multiple users upload pictures to a common group - this would overcome the copyright issue. Not sure if the Groups thing is fully available yet though. Hi Brian, albums like tags or group pools are just containers for photos. A user can own the containter but photos will always appear in the correct profile. Way back we were going to provide shared albums (example here: http://pix.ie/obriens/album/317151) but this is essentially the same as a group pool with less functionality.

Groups are not publically available yet.

Thanks Marcus. I was trying to explain to davymac that we can't just put pictures into his albums. I think something like the O'Briens Living Earth group is what he had in mind, but as you say Groups are not yet available. So if he wants to see a collection of photos of a specific topic he should search by tag (still not a great culture of tagging yet!), or wade through lots of photos until he finds the subjects he has in mind, then encourage the owner to tag. A bit like the encouragement that was given to tag with "pomodoro"

Thanks for the info guys. Groups would be the kind of thing I had in mind, but have amended my main message to request adding the tag 'irishworker' to any photos relevant to this subject. Not sure how that will work out but we'll see.
