Competition is now Closed

Secondary school students and members of the public are invited to participate in the Science Snaps 2013 photography competition, operated by Science Foundation Ireland, which takes place as part of Science Week 2013 (10th to 17th November).

~ Exploring the XtraOrdinary of Science ~

The theme of the competition, which is sponsored by Bord Gáis Networks, is ‘Exploring the XtraOrdinary of Science’ in conjunction with this year’s Science Week theme. Entrants are invited to capture and submit images of some of the fascinating scientific processes that take place around us in our everyday lives.

The competition categories are:

  • Junior Cycle students
  • Senior Cycle students
  • General Public

and there are two great prizes to be won in each category:

  • First prize: DSLR Nikon D3100 camera
  • Runner up: Canon IXUS digital camera

Winning snaps will be displayed by Bus Éireann on selected commuter routes throughout Ireland. Shortlisted images will also feature as part of a public exhibition travelling to Dublin, Cork and Galway during Science Week 2013 (November 10-17). Details on this exhibition will be available on the Science Week website shortly.

The closing date for entries is Sunday October 20th 2013. Winners will be announced before Science Week on www.scienceweek.ie.
