Cool shot, did you ask him to set them up like that ?

PunkRock
# by PunkRock on 2008-Aug-18

No, it's a bar in Temple Bar and as per usual there was a contingent of Brits in and of course being the good tourists they are they all wanted Guinness.

I did get him to turn them faceout though.

All more than half full.  Should the black be blacker though? Cool shot all the same!

Deirdre! Deirdre!!

They are Guinness not completed yet.

A pint of Guinness is pulled to 3/4 of the glass, then allowed to settle, (these are at that stage)

then topped off and a wee bit more settling follows!

Cannot believe an Irish lass didn't know that!

:)

Dude, I'm just pointing out the obvious.  Of course I know how to pull a Guinness, been there, done that, wore the t-shirt.  Some folk may not be so knowledgable in the science though ..... so well done you for writing up the procedure as above! ;)

I still think the black should be blacker...

the condensation on the outside of the glasses is reducing the depth of the blackness

hmm.. true.. so it's the white's that are too white?

PunkRock
# by PunkRock on 2008-Aug-29

The White on a Guinness is mostly not White!! It's a creamy beigey colour most times, Sometimes in a very good pub or a "fixed" advertisement for Guinness it will be Whiter than White!, but the majority of times it is not.

Sorry if any tourists are reading any of this. :)
