About: Hi,
My name is Chris but as I am originally from Birmingham I use the name villafan. I have been interested in photography since the late 70s when I bought a Practika 35mm SLR and later a Olympus OM10. When the OM10 was stolen during a burglary my interest waned.
Since moving to Ireland in 2002 I rekindled my interest (initally using a Panasonic compact) but then acquired a Nikon D5000 with 18-55mm, 55-200mm zoom lenses and more recently a 50mm f1.8 lens. I have been out of work (which is not unusual for Ireland nowadays) but it gave me the time to take shots of Irelands superb countryside and city scenes. Thankfully now I have a job so I will soon be able to invest in some new lenses and accessories. The downside is that I will have less time to devote to photography (but hey, we can't have everything in life).
